The 14th Annual Academic Sessions of Sri Lanka College of Psychiatrists in Collaboration with Sri Lanka College of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists was held on 27th, 28th & 29th of April 2017 at National Institute of Mental Health and Kingsbury Hotel Colombo.
During this Pre-congress sessions Prof. Nick Glozier and Prof. Athula Sumathipala conducted a session on “What is research and how to do research” mainly focusing on developing research questions. The workshop participants were asked to form groups and come up with research ideas which were fine-tuned into research questions.
On the following day, during congress sessions Prof. Athula Sumathipala delivered a plenary lecture, titled “The role of a psychiatrist; locally and globally“, on his experiences as an clinician and researcher both locally and internationally. Prof. Nick Glozier conducted a lecture titled, “Sleep disturbances and psychiatric disorders“.
