Horizon Campus Partners with Institute for Research and Development – in Health and Social Care(IRD) to Advance Biomedical Research and Join Global Twin Studies Initiative

Horizon Campus is pleased to announce a strategic academic partnership with the Institute for Research and Development in Health and Social Care (IRD),

marking a new phase in international collaboration, multidisciplinary research, and global academic engagement.

This partnership will not only deepen Horizon’s existing relationship with Keele University, but also align with major international research events, most notably, the International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS) Congress, which will be hosted by the IRD.

Leading the Way in Biomedical Research and Genetics  The Horizon-IRD partnership focuses on advancing research in key areas such as

biomedical science, molecular biology, genetics, ethics, and public health. With a strong foundation in multidisciplinary research, IRD has established itself as a key institution in Sri Lanka since its inception in 1997, bringing together experts in fields ranging from epidemiology and psychiatry to education and ethics.

Through this collaboration, Horizon Campus will work closely with IRD’s full-time research staff and global academic network to support innovative, high-impact research projects with real-world relevance.

Hosting the International Congress in Twin Research  A highlight of this collaboration is Horizon’s involvement in the International

Congress in Twin Research, organised under the auspices of the International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS) and hosted by IRD. This prestigious global event

will bring together scientists and researchers from around the world to explore cutting-edge developments in twin studies, genetics, epigenetics, and  behavioral sciences.

Horizon’s participation in the congress represents a significant opportunity to showcase Sri Lankan research on a global stage and foster further international  academic connections.
