Workshop on the Post Disaster Role of Media Representatives

A one day workshop was held on the 15th of May 2019 at the Ministtry of disaster management, Sri Lanka. The resource persons who spoke at the workshop included Senior Consultant Psychiatrist Prof. Athula Sumathipala, Dr.Kanthi Hettigoda, Dr.Rohan Rathnayake, Dr. Chathiri suraweera, Dr Dhanuja Mahesh and Mr. Shan Wijethunga.

Cliniclcal Psychiatrist Dr.Kanthi Hettigoda said that suicide bombers should not be labelled as ‘smart’ as it may influence others with such ideas as well. She added that, however, an individual becoming a suicide bomber was the result of a mental disorder. The event was organised by the Presidential Secretariat.
