PPIE Professionals Group Meeting

PPIE professional working group held its inaugural meeting on 24th August 2018 at IRD office. This informal group includes medical officers, academic staff of medical and allied health faculties of state universities, representatives from IRD and media professionals.

Objective of the meeting was to identify the ways to take the PPIE initiative forward.

Key suggestions that came up during the meeting were; establish a wider network among stakeholders to sustain PPIE initiative, organise a workshop targeted to ethics committee members of relevant institutions in Sri Lanka on PPIE, develop a curriculum on PPIE which could be offered in graduate / post graduate programs, develop training and culturally adaptable material to enhance PPIE activities giving special emphasis to Sinhala and Tamil content and use of mass media to raise awareness pertinent to PPIE.
