We’re very pleased to see our colleague Dr. Risitha Wakishta Arachchi, Research Associate and Coordinator of the UK NIHR-funded TRANSLATE Project at the Institute for Research and Development, recognised as a Chevening Scholar for the 2026–27 cohort.
Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme, supporting outstanding emerging leaders from around the world to pursue postgraduate study in the UK and build a global network of people working to make a difference in their fields and communities.
Among thousands of applicants from around the world, only five were selected from Sri Lanka for this prestigious scholarship, making Risitha’s achievement truly exceptional.
As a Chevening Scholar, Risitha will be heading to King’s College London to pursue an MSc in Early Intervention in Psychosis. This is a great opportunity for him to build on his work in research and mental health, and we’re excited to see how he brings this experience back to his work in Sri Lanka.
