Saumya Bulathwela is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and a member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with First-Class Honours from the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka, ranking first in the order of merit. She was awarded the Trophy for the Best Overall Performance in Academic Studies in the LL.B. Degree. She pursued her Master of Laws (LL.M.) on a merit-based scholarship at Pennsylvania State University, United States, specializing in International, Foreign, and Comparative Law, as well as Immigration and Migration. She has been engaging in interdisciplinary legal research for a decade and has presented her work at national and international conferences.
